Bachelor of Arts in Music

Intended for students seeking a comprehensive musical education, this 57-68 unit degree readies students for multiple applications, including teaching, worship, and commercial music. The program includes core courses, an ensemble requirement, and an emphasis in either Applied Music (Performance), Music Education, Commercial Music, Music Theory, or Church Music.

The Bachelor of Arts in Music suits any serious musician willing to devote time and effort toward developing skills and understanding the intricacies of composition and performance. Whether the goal is teaching, worship, performance, or commercial, this program allows students to hone their gifts and gain the confidence to excel professionally.

Many of our students continue their studies at the graduate level at notable universities around the country such as the University of Southern California; Claremont Graduate University; Berklee College of Music, Boston; the University of North Carolina; Cleveland Institute of Music; Hart College; and Azusa Pacific University.

For those interested in pursuing graduate work at APU, graduate teacher assistant positions are available to exceptional students to assist them with the cost of graduate school.
