Profile
Rod Cathey is an active adjudicator and clinician. Prior to his work at Azusa Pacific University, Cathey served as fine arts chair and vice principal of Western Christian High School, and then as minister of worship in churches in New Mexico and Southern California. He joined the APU music faculty in 1993.

Cathey directed the APU Men’s Chorale until 2003 and is now conductor of University Choir and Orchestra. Under Cathey's direction, the chorale performed in hundreds of concerts throughout the western and northwestern United States, as well as Romania. Cathey also advises the APU music ministry teams Celebration, Innermission, and Reflection. These contemporary Christian vocal/instrumental groups represent APU in churches and summer camps throughout the United States.
