Profile
Claire Fedoruk, soprano, completed her doctorate in early music performance at the University of Southern California. Fedoruk received her B.M. from Pacific Lutheran University and her M.M. from the Eastman School of Music. She has collaborated with Nicholas McGegan, Robert Shaw, Helmuth Rilling, as well as early music specialists Paul O’Dette, Stephen Stubbs, and Suzie LeBlanc. Summer music festivals have included Oberlin in Italy (Italy), Pacific Music Festival (Japan), the Vancouver Early Music Programme (Canada), and Festival Ensemble Stuttgart (Germany).
As an active concert and recording artist, Fedoruk can be heard on the forthcoming Daniel Vaiations (Nonesuch) of Steve Reich You Are Variations (Reich again - Nonesuch), the Grammy award winning LA Chamber Singers Capella’s Padilla: Sun of Justice and JAC Redford’s Evening Wind. She can also be heard as a soloist in the videogame soundtrack, Shaiya. An early music scholar and specialist, she enjoys collaborating with colleagues in the Concord Ensemble, Capella, and Los Angeles Master Chorale. Fedoruk has appeared as a featured soloist of Handel’s Messiah and J.S. Bach’s Weinachstoratorium with the Los Angeles Master Chorale, Steve Reich’s Tehillim at Lincoln Center, and as a soloist under the baton of Grant Gershon, Esa-Pekka Salonen, and Helmuth Rilling.
Fedoruk is an assistant professor of music history at Azusa Pacific University, where she specializes in teaching modern and early music. She is a student of Janice McVeigh. Future projects include a position as voice faculty and soloist at several music festivals in Venezuela with Maria Guinand and Helmuth Rilling.
