APU Alum Receives Prestigious Award to Study in Macau

AZUSA, Calif. –
Recent Azusa Pacific University graduate and Louisville, Ky. resident Brooke Pearson is one of three APU students to receive a 2008 Student Fulbright Scholarship. Pearson, who graduated in December 2007 with a degree in communication studies, was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to study in Macau, one of the two regions of China, where she will teach English at the Macau University of Science and Technology. This marks the sixth consecutive year that an APU student has received this award.
As a student at APU, Pearson served as a resident advisor for freshman girls and studied abroad twice, in Oxford, England, and in Myanmar. She was also involved with Multi-Ethnic Programs, and became a Multi-Ethnic Leadership (MEL) Scholar.
