APU Students Win Big at BEA Festival of Media Arts

AZUSA, Calif. –

Azusa Pacific University is proud to announce that five APU student films received awards at the 2008 (BEA) Broadcast Education Association Festival of Media Arts. The students’ films competed against 80 to 120 entries from other college students from around the U.S. This year, APU won three of the top seven film divisions.

APU’s Cinema Broadcast Arts Program enters student films in the BEA Festival of Media Arts annually. Last year, two films were awarded first place in their category and one film received second in its category. The festival is held in Las Vegas and is the culminating event of the National Association of Broadcasters Convention.

The Cinema and Broadcast Arts Program at APU prepares students to integrate a Christian worldview into their study of the history, theory, and philosophy of narrative and communicative media which encompasses film, television and radio. The program guides and assists students as they develop, write, produce, and evaluate critical and creative efforts that prepare them for involvement in the entertainment and communication industries.
