Linda Witte Named Director of Graduate Admissions

AZUSA, Calif. –

Azusa Pacific University recently named Temple City, Calif. resident Linda Witte as director of graduate admissions.

Witte’s responsibilities as director include influencing effective collaboration of recruitment efforts to meet enrollment goals, maintaining effective work flow procedures, and ensuring implementation of the university’s graduate admissions policies. She brings to the position experience in andragogy (programs and learning environments designed for the adult learner), management of graduate educational programs, and recruitment and admissions.

APU’s Graduate Center provides multiple resources and services to help students proceed through their graduate studies. The Office of Graduate Admissions works with Graduate Student Financial Services and the Graduate Registrar to provide students with the tools they need to enter and proceed through their graduate program.

Witte’s vision for this position and the department is to further APU’s mission by creating excellent business practice. In addition, she hopes to build on existing customer service through the strengths of the admissions team to support deans in actualizing target enrollments for their programs.

Prior to her position at APU, Witte earned a Bachelor of Science at Saint Francis College in Fort Wayne, Ind. She then earned a Master of Arts in Education and a Doctor of Education at Pepperdine University Graduate School of Education, Malibu, Calif. She served as associate director of admissions at Concordia, Irvine, Calif. from 1984-86 and as an adjunct professor at Pepperdine University from 1993-2000. Witte also worked as the manager of education master’s and credential programs from 1986-2006.
