New Associate Provost to Lead Faculty Development

AZUSA, Calif. –
Azusa Pacific University associate professor of business and management and La Verne, Calif. resident Gary Lemaster, Ph.D., has been named associate provost for academic services and faculty support. Lemaster has served as a full-time faculty member in the School of Business and Management since 1999, earning the Teaching Excellence and Campus Leadership Award in 2003. Most recently, Lemaster served as faculty moderator.
“I am excited for the opportunity to enhance the experience of our already excellent faculty through the areas of faculty development, faith integration, service learning, and evaluation,” said Lemaster. “These areas are integral to the faculty and student experience, and I look forward to being involved in the process of helping faculty to continue our pursuit of God-honoring excellence at APU.”
Lemaster’s new responsibilities include overseeing faculty development, service learning, faith integration, and faculty evaluation. In addition, he provides leadership to the area of university assessment, and is involved in the adjunct hiring and integration processes.
“Dr. Lemaster’s knowledge and expertise will prove invaluable as we continue to hire the most knowledgeable and Christ-centered faculty in higher education,” said APU Provost Michael M. Whyte, Ph.D.
Lemaster received a B.A. in Psychology from Point Loma Nazarene University, an M.S. in Human Resource Management and Development from Chapman University, an M.Ed. in Leadership from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, and a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from Regent University.
