Azusa Pacific University’s Center for Research in Science (CRIS) hosts Jeffrey Zweerink, Ph.D, Reasons to Believe scholar team member and former University of California at Los Angeles physics and astronomy research faculty member.

CRIS exists to serve a community of students, scholars, and laypersons by promoting research that encompasses yet extends the scope of scientific studies to address the inseparable relationship between science and culture, the role of science in classical liberal arts education, and the ancient dialogue between faith and reason.
FACTS:
- Although science has been a major interest for most of his life, Zweenrink’s fascination with gamma rays began during his graduate studies at Iowa State University, where he earned his Ph.D. Before joining Reasons to Believe, Zweenrink spent time working on the STACEE and VERITAS gamma-ray telescopes. He was also involved in research projects including the Solar Two Project and the Whipple Collaboration.
