San Diego Regional Center Moves to Accommodate Growth

October 31, 2006

AZUSA, Calif. –

WHO:
Azusa Pacific University’s San Diego Regional Center

WHAT:
Azusa Pacific University’s San Diego Regional Center has relocated to a more convenient and spacious site in the San Diego area to accommodate a rapidly growing enrollment of nearly 200 students. APU will host a dedication ceremony celebrating the center in its new location.

WHERE:
San Diego Regional Center
8401 Aero Drive, Suite 200, San Diego, Calif.

WHEN:
Mon., Nov. 6, 6:30 p.m.

WHY:
“This move enables us to provide an excellent learning environment to those who work and study in San Diego,” said John G. Burlison, director of the regional center.

FACTS:

  • The new 16,000 square foot location more than doubles its previous one in size. The center houses 10 state-of-the-art classrooms, a nursing skills lab, 10 faculty and staff offices, additional adjunct offices, a student lounge, and a larger parking structure which better meets the needs of the expanding enrollment.
  • Established in 1974, the San Diego Regional Center was originally located at Sweetwater Union High School in National City. In 1998, the site transitioned to Mission Valley. Now, 36 years later, the new property offers improved facilities conveniently located near three major freeways.
  • The San Diego Regional Center offers 23 different program options, now including nursing.
