Nearly 300 Teaching Candidates Expected at Teacher Interview Day

Nearly 300 teacher candidates and 53 Southern California schools and school districts
WHAT:
Azusa Pacific University’s Office of Career Services hosts the annual Teacher Interview Day, where recent college graduates have the opportunity to connect with 53 represented schools and school districts. More than 500 interviews are expected to take place throughout the day, as participants interview for multiple- and single-subject and special education careers.

May 8, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

APU’s Felix Event Center, West Campus

WHY:
At a time when teaching jobs are at a premium, the Office of Career Services, in cooperation with the School of Education, sponsors Teacher Interview Day in order to connect school districts with APU students, giving them the opportunity to interview for careers in education.
FACTS:
Each year, Teacher Interview Day helps match qualified teaching candidates with schools to meet California’s educational needs. In 2007, nearly 20 candidates received on the spot offers, and about 40 potential job offers were expected to be extended.
