APU Presents: Return to the Forbidden Planet

WHO: Azusa Pacific University Theater Arts Production
WHAT: Also known as Shakespeare’s forgotten masterpiece, Return to the Forbidden Planet is told through Rock and Roll classics, including “Wipeout,” “Great Balls of Fire,” and “Good Vibrations.” While on a routine survey flight, the Intergalactic Starship Albatross is drawn into a foreign planet where the crew finds adventure, uncertainty, and a mad scientist.
WHERE: Mary Hill Theater, located on APU’s West Campus
WHEN: Feb. 28-29, March 1, 6-8 at 7:30 p.m.
March 1 and 8 at 2 p.m.
WHY: APU Theater Arts grants students opportunities to gain theater and acting experience while promoting self-expression through the arts.

This is the 14th year of operation for the APU Theater Arts Program. Nine major productions are schedule each year. Other smaller productions, directed by students, are presented as well. The Theater Arts major began three years ago with just nine students. Those students are now seniors performing in their final productions at APU. The major has grown to include more than 70 students.
