Off-Campus Library Services
Requesting Library Materials
The University Libraries will mail books, articles, media items, and test materials to regional center patrons' home addresses. For information about loan periods and fees, and to place a request, see the Interlibrary Services page.
Note: Distance education/Regional Center patrons are especially encouraged to use LINK+, as the APU Libraries can mail LINK+ books free of charge (return postage included!) to a home address.
Using Other Libraries
The APU Libraries have made several arrangements that allow students and faculty to visit and borrow materials from other libraries throughout California. These arrangements can help you do your research without traveling to the Azusa campus libraries. For more information, lists of participating libraries, and applications for borrowing privileges, see the Partner Libraries page.
Research Assistance
For general assistance, contact Debra Quast, Director of Regional Center Libraries, at (626) 625-9090 or dquast@apu.edu. Distance learners are also welcome to use the Libraries' phone, email, and chat reference services, to contact a subject specialist librarian directly, and to access the subject guides, tutorials, and handouts available on the Research Help page.
Remote Access
To access library databases from home, you will need an active APU NetID and password. Contact IMT at support@apu.edu or (866) APU-DESK if you do not have this information. Once you have established your NetID and password, use the "Library Resources and Services" link within the Cougars' Den portal to access all library databases with one quick log-in.
Use of Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher for Windows 95/98/2000/Me/XP, Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher for Macintosh OS 9.x and OS X, Netscape Navigator 7.0 or higher, or Mozilla for Linux/Unix is recommended for remote access of library databases. You may also need to disable your browser's pop-up blocker.
Tutorials and Other Guides
Note: Adobe Acrobat Reader and the Flash plug-in may be required to access these handouts and tutorials.
