APU librarians are available for classroom-based or one-on-one instruction in library research methods, information literacy, or subject-specific research tools. To schedule an instruction session, please use the library instruction request form or contact the subject specialist for your department. APU Libraries Definition of Information Literacy
Information literacy is the ability to recognize when information is needed, to access information efficiently, to evaluate information critically, and to use information purposely and ethically.
Information Literacy Instruction Program Mission Statement
The Azusa Pacific University Libraries’ Information Literacy Instruction program is committed to information literacy and its ongoing application through proactive collaboration with classroom faculty and the education of library users so that they may:
- recognize when information is needed
- access information efficiently
- evaluate information critically
- use information purposely and ethically.
The library seeks to provide resources and services in an environment that fosters free and open inquiry and serves as a catalyst for the interpretation, integration, and wise use of knowledge in all fields of learning for the ultimate glory of God.
