Interlibrary Services Request Form

What is Interlibrary Loan?

The Interlibrary Services staff uses Interlibrary Loan in order to obtain materials that are not available in the APU Libraries. This service is available to the students, faculty and staff of Azusa Pacific University. The staff can locate:

  • Books or chapters from a book
  • Copies of articles in periodicals
  • Some theses, dissertations, and government publications

How do I request material?

The Interlibrary Services Request form is available online. The form must be completed correctly or it will not be processed. Requests by phone or e-mail will not be accepted.

Is this service free?

No. Faculty, staff and students must pay the library a NON-REFUNDABLE processing fee of $2.00 per book; articles incur a fee of $2.00 for the first 20 pages and $0.10 each additional page. Fax and rush articles orders incur an additional $3.00 charge. The library will send a statement.

Faculty members who are authorized to charge Interlibrary Loan requests to their department must provide the 10-digit department account number.

How long does it take to receive materials?

Processing usually takes a minimum of 7 to 10 working days and may take longer.

What if I need materials quickly?

The Interlibrary Services staff can do a location search to see if material is available at nearby libraries. Location requests are usually ready in 24 hours or less and are free of charge. Contact the Interlibrary Services staff at illdept@apu.edu to request a location search.

How long may I keep the material?

You may keep copies of articles. Books are generally loaned for 2 to 3 weeks. Renewals are generally not available. Overdue material will incur fines and blocks on the patron record.

Where do I return books?

Azusa campus patrons may return all books to the Circulation Desk at any Azusa campus library. Regional center patrons should return books by mail using the postage paid mailing label provided.

Where is the Interlibrary Services office?
