Message from the Moderator

Kimberly Battle-Walters Denu, Ph.D.
Faculty Moderator
Welcome to the Faculty Senate website. It is an honor to serve as Faculty Moderator for 2006-08, and a privilege to work with a group of faculty colleagues dedicated to serving the APU community.

The Senate’s mission is to direct faculty governance at APU. The Senate oversees faculty committees who review, monitor, and approve curriculum and other relevant faculty matters. In addition, the Senate represents the faculty to the Board of Trustees, the administration, students, and the general university community.

The Senate is currently composed of more than 30 senators chosen by their respective schools and faculty units to represent and inform faculty throughout APU. Please get to know your representatives and communicate your thoughts and concerns to them so they can voice them through faculty governance.

Senate meetings are held twice each month, and all faculty members are welcome to attend. Agendas and minutes are posted in the Faculty Senate Public Folder for your information. Additionally, full faculty meetings are held once a month with the intent of encouraging, inspiring, and informing faculty on relevant university matters. Full faculty meetings are a time of great fellowship.
