Profile
Tami Foy’s primary interest is in promoting equity and access to all students, especially students who live in urban communities. Tami currently works as an administrator in the Compton Unified School District where she provides a variety of services to students in the areas of safety, the visual and performing arts, and has a special interest in helping students who are at-risk of failing out of school.
Tami is currently completing her doctorate in education at Claremont Graduate University where her dissertation is focusing on high achieving African American male high school students. Her other areas of research include: school reform, improving the academic achievement of African American males, and diversity issues that focus on equity and access for students in low-performing schools.
