Spanish majors are expected to plan one study term abroad. Those wishing to study in the Dominican Republic must have completed SPAN 201/202 or its equivalent prior to departure.

Students who are native speakers of Spanish or have three to four years of high school Spanish should take the Spanish Placement or CLEP exam to waive elementary Spanish and then consult with an advisor before entering directly into intermediate or upper-division work.
