College of Liberal Arts and Sciences
Profile
Steven Wentland, Ed.D.O.L., is an associate professor at APU. He is currently the cofounder and president of America's Battle of the Books, the largest reading-incentive battle of the books program in America. The program is nationally recognized and reaches to many international schools. In addition, he is CEO and founder of Lest We Forget...In God We Trust In My America - a competition-style program for students in K-12 grades that places prayer, Bible and religious expression back in the public school classroom. He hopes that this program will be the largest of its kind in America within a few years. He is a national and international presenter on "teaching about religion" and is presently completing his book, "But God...what about me?", his personal account of the activity of God in his life over the past 10 years. He is also a board member for His Way Out Ministries in Bakersfield, California and in his spare time enjoys his 22 acre ranch in the San Emigdio Mountains.
