Admission Requirements

Application Deadline

The MLOS Program works on a rolling admission basis, and classes begin in the fall and spring when 18-24 students have enrolled, forming a cohort that will complete the program as a group. The first step is to contact a CAPS enrollment counselor at (626) 815-5301 and/or attend an information meeting. The sooner you submit your admissions materials, the sooner you can begin your program.

Admission Requirements

To be admitted to the MLOS Degree Completion Program, an applicant needs:

  1. Completed CAPS Application for Admission
  2. A $45 nonrefundable application fee
  3. A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  4. Possess an undergraduate grade-point average of 3.0 or better (on a 4.0 scale)
  5. Official transcript from the college or university where the undergraduate degree was earned (must be mailed from the colleges or universities directly to APU)
  6. A Letter of Intent describing personal and professional goals
  7. A reference form identifying persons qualified to judge academic or professional expertise
  8. A professional résumé

This program is not recommended for students who lack proficiency in basic academic skills, especially collegiate-level English communication skills.

All aspects of the applicant's file are considered – rigor of the undergraduate curriculum, academic performance as an undergraduate student, work experience, personal references, and personal goal statement.
