Parking Information

All faculty, staff, students, guests, and visitors are required to pay all fines and penalties. There are no exemptions to the Azusa Pacific University Vehicle Code. Failure to comply with the university Vehicle Code will result in limited or loss of parking and driving privileges and disciplinary action per the Student Standards of Conduct or appropriate office or department.

Please note the following important sections of the Vehicle Code:

3017: ILLEGAL OFF CAMPUS PARKING
APU has worked very hard to increase good will with the local businesses adjacent to the APU campuses. In an effort to be sensitive to their needs and continue this guiding principle, anyone not conducting business at The College Center, The Promenade, The Whole Enchilada, Washington Mutual, Jack in the Box, Alosta Educational Center, Foothill Center, or any business adjacent to any APU controlled properties, may not park in those lots. The Department of Campus Safety may ticket these vehicles in violation of this section.

WARNING: The owners or management companies can tow violators per CVC22658(a)(1) at the owner's expense, without any notice to APU.

3017(A): ILLEGAL APU RESIDENTIAL OFF CAMPUS PARKING
Any APU student living in Alosta Place, Bowles, University Park, or Canyon Gardens is restricted from parking on Calera Ave,. Galanto Ave., Oakbank Dr., hanlin Dr., Traymore Ave., and Barranca Ave., south of Hollyvale St. Vehicles parked on any of the above streets and identified as belonging to an APU student will be cited and face Student Standards of Conduct disciplinary action for any further violations.

Parking Permits

Parking permits are required and can be requested in the following ways:

Note: Undergraduate students must also provide a photocopy of their driver's license and vehicle registration along with the form.

Once a parking permit request is received, it is forwarded to Campus Safety for processing. The parking permit is then mailed to the student’s home address or may be picked up in at the Department of Campus Safety, Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Temporary Parking Permits

These permits are available for Students, Faculty, and Staff who have a rental car, or temporary vehicles. Only the Department of Campus Safety can issue these permits and only after a Temporary Parking Request Form is filled out. Temporary permits are only valid for a maximum of two (2) weeks. Longer periods of time must be approved by the Chief of Campus Safety or designee.

Parking Spaces

All parking must be within a painted marked space unless directed otherwise by a Campus Safety Officer. Motorcycles, scooters, and mopeds are required to park at the ends of the painted areas of the parking lots or in a designated parking space. There is no parking allowed in the painted blue marked sections of any handicapped parking spaces. When parking, please observe the area that you are parking in.

YELLOW or ORANGE painted parking spaces have specific restriction. Look for painted markings on the ground or posted signs before parking.

WHITE painted parking spaces are for general parking areas and usually have no restrictions. However, as a word of caution please watch for any type of painted or posted signs.

BLUE painted parking spaces are only for vehicle with a valid disabled person's placard or license plate.

Residential Freshmen

All residential freshmen living in Adams, Engstrom, Smith and Trinity Halls are required to park in the designated parking are of the WC-Annex (formally the Drive-In) parking lot. Residential freshmen vehicles are restricted from parking in the West or East Campus parking lots, Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Alosta Place Residents

All students living in Alosta Place are required to park in the Shire Annex parking area.

NOTE: All Alosta Place residents are restricted from parking anywhere on East Campus from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday - Friday.

Bowles Residents

Bowles parking is by a Bowles Permit only and is restricted from 8 p.m. Sunday and ending on Friday at 8 a.m. Because of the limited number of parking spaces available, Campus Safety will only issue Bowles Parking Permits to Bowles female residents on a first come first serve basis. Once these spaces are filled, the overflow of Bowles female vehicles will be required to park in Shire Annex (depending on availability) or the WC-Annex parking area.

Bowles Male residents are required to park in Shire Annex (depending on availability) or the WC-Annex parking area.

NOTE: All Bowles residents are restricted from parking anywhere on East Campus from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday - Friday.

University Park Residents

University Park parking is by a University Park Permit only and the spaces are restricted from 8 p.m. Sunday and ending on Friday at 8 a.m. Because of the limited number of parking spaces available, Campus Safety will only issue University Park Parking Permits to University Park female residents on a first come first serve basis. Once filled, the overflow of University Park female vehicles will be required to park in Shire Annex.

Male residents: All University Park men are required to park in Shire Annex (depending on availability) or the WC-Annex parking area.

NOTE: All University Park residents are restricted from parking anywhere on East Campus from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday - Friday.

University Village Residents

Any student living in the University Village will be issued a restricted perking permit and have an option of parking in West Campus or the West Campus Annex parking lots. Restricted permits can not park any where on the East Campus from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday – Friday.

Shire Residents

Shire parking is by a Shire Permit only and the spaces are restricted from 8 p.m. Sunday and ending on Friday at 4 p.m. Because of the limited number of parking spaces available, Campus Safety will only issue permits to Shire female residents on a first come first serve basis. Once these spaces are filled the overflow Shire females will be required to park in Shire Annex (depending on availability) or the the WC-Annex parking area.

Shire Male residents are required to park in Shire Annex (depending on availability) or the WC-Annex.

NOTE: All Shire residents are restricted from parking anywhere on East Campus from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday - Friday.

Shire Annex Parking

APU has contracted to lease parking spaces from Citrus College. The university has worked closely with Citrus College and based on our needs have identified the Shire Annex parking area that will meet the needs of the APU community and will not interfere with Citrus College's day to day operations.

Because of the Sunday Swap Meet you will be required to move your vehicle from the Shire Annex area on Fridays by no later than 6 p.m. Any vehicle left in the Shire Annex area after 6 p.m. Friday will be ticketed and towed to a different Citrus College parking lot at your expense. Towing charges will be charged to your student account and you cannot appeal this charge. You will be required to pay all towing charges, citation fines, and you will be subject to losing your parking and driving privileges. Additionally there will be times that you will be required to move your vehicle onto the East Campus due to Citrus College needing the spaces for athletic or other special events. ATTENTION: All Shire Annex vehicles are prohibited from parking anywhere on the East Campus, from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., Monday - Friday as set forth in APU Vehicle Code {APUVC 3008}. All Shire Annex vehicles must return to the parking area after 8 p.m. Sunday evening. At all other times, vehicles are to remain in Shire Annex.
