About the Department

The Department of Exercise and Sport Science at Azusa Pacific University develops specific intellectual, creative, occupational, and professional skills designed to help the student become a contributing professional, and offers majors in athletic training and physical education as well as a minor in coaching. The department emphasizes the preparation of students to become physical education teachers in grades 7-12. These programs result in professional degrees that meet the requirements of the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing as an approved Single-Subject Program.
