THIS YEAR: Though only a junior, Brent Willard is a veteran of the Cougar defense, having played in 19 games the past season while starting the past 11 in a row ... Strong player for his size and fearless.
2007: Started all 11 games during the Cougars’ 6-5 campaign ... Had 39 tackles and a hand in 1 sack ... Recorded a season-high 6 tackles in 3 different games, including the Cougars’ 38-34 victory over Whitworth in which he also had a tackle for loss ... Returned an interception 48 yards for his first-ever collegiate TD to give the Cougars a 7-0 lead in their eventual 30-20 victory at Dixie State.
2006: Appeared in 8 of the Cougars’ 10 games, starting the first 5 of the season ... In his first collegiate game recorded 5 tackles (2 solo) at San Diego ... Posted a career-high 7 tackles (2 solo) vs. Wisconsin-Whitewater ... Recorded his first-ever collegiate interception in the Cougars’ victory over Webber International
