Blog Allows for Discussion on APU's New Science Center September 26, 2007 Azusa Pacific University broke ground on a new state-of-the-art science center on September 26. A recently-created blog now offers a forum for dialogue on issues surrounding the building project and scientific advancement. The building of the science center brings new opportunities for scientific advancement and achievement at APU. To offer students, faculty, staff, and community members a place to voice their opinion, the APU Science Building blog has been created. Asking visitors such questions as, "Are you worried about nanotechnology changing our species?" or "Should there be limits to nanotech as applied to humans?" the blog offers an honest look into the heart of the issues surrounding scientific advancement. The $54.7 million center will take shape as a three-story, 70,000-square foot facility that will house 16 classrooms, 14 labs, 1 lecture hall, 7 smaller research labs, 36 offices, a conference room, and 2 student study breakout rooms, in addition to several small rooms for specialized use and an office for the Center for Research in Science. Additional features include an ecology pond, a greenhouse, and tissue culture, imaging, and magnetic resonance facilities for the use of faculty and students in collaborative research.
