Tearrah Gamble

As a co-leader of the Multi-Ethnic Student Alliance (M.E.S.A.), an Alpha leader, vice president of the Black Student Association (BSA), a member of the Diversity Committee, and a chapel card collector, Tearrah Gamble keeps herself busy. Amazingly, she also finds time to earn grades to maintain her President’s Scholarship. Tearrah is the first to tell you, however, that life is not about all the things you do, but really about keeping God First. “It’s not about what I do – it’s about Christian love,” she explained. “People should know I’m different because I love to such a great extent that they ask why.”

Tearrah appreciates how her Azusa Pacific education stretched her. “I have been forced to create new boundaries here. I have had to become uncomfortable in the learning process. I’ve developed a passion to know people on the inside – not take them at face value.” She knows that small things are noticed – such as the campus pastor coming to sit with the kids from the BSA at a football game, helping show that diversity does not have to mean separation. “I want to live my life so Christ is silently evident. And that means reacting as Christ did – to everyone,” said Tearrah.
